The analytical balance is an instrument which allows us to measure the mass . It is used mainly for measuring small masses. while the scales were used to weigh larger objects. so that help us carry out precision measurements . This measuring instrument is the most used in laboratories. now they have modern scales that have the ability to give us a reading accuracy of up to 0.1mg 0.1g .
There are two types of analytical balances , electronic , employing electromagnetic and mechanical systems , which are in day are replaced almost entirely by electronic for its greater accuracy , speed to operate and ease of use.
The analytical balance has a maximum capacity between 120 - 200g .
the reliability of the weighing results are closely related to its location and this should be placed in a place
-with very little vibration.
-without drafts.
-with as constant ambient temperature and humidity .
to carry the heavy must take into account :
-directamnete substances not weigh on the weighing plate .
-use a clean , dry container : a watch glass or container as small as possible.
- the container and the load have to be weighed have the same temperature as the environment .
- placing the material is to think of the center of the scale plate.
at the end of the measurement process , removing the load from weighing plate
- placing the material is to think of the center of the scale plate
